OpenTaxSolver is available as source-code for compilation on all platforms. Instructions (0_README.txt) and examples are included in all versions.

Versions for 2014 Tax-Year:  

• For Linux, Posix/Unix -
      OpenTaxSolver2014_12.02_linux32.tgz   (0.58-MB)
      OpenTaxSolver2014_12.02_linux64.tgz   (0.60-MB)
  - March 25, 2015 - Package covers US 1040 Federal taxes, Schedules A, B, C, D, and forms 6251 & 8949, all updated for the 2014 tax-year. Also includes updated State-Tax versions for several of the largest states: CA, NY, MA, VA, OH, NC, NJ, and PA. Contains source-code with build scripts, and compiled binary executables for 32-bit and 64-bit Linux PCs, respectively.   Re-compile if needed.
  To start in graphical mode, double-click on, or invoke:   ./Run_taxsolve_GUI
  Unpacking - Package is a gzip'd tar-file. To unpack,
        tar xfz OpenTaxSolver2014_12.02_linux32.tgz
  Will unpack into a directory of similar name.
  Please see the 0_Readme.txt file in top directory for instructions about running or re-building. (Simple compiling instructions are also included in header comments of all programs.)

• For MS-Windows - OpenTaxSolver2014_12.02_mswin.zip   (5.7-MB)
  - March 25, 2015 - Same as above, but zip format for easier unpacking on MS-Windows. Contains compiled binary executables for MS-Windows PCs. Source-code is also included. Double-click Run_taxsolve_GUI to start in graphical mode. (This just invokes msbin\ots_gui2.exe.) Contains US 1040 Fed taxes, Scheds A, B, C, D, and forms 8949, updated for 2014 tax-year. Also includes updated State-Tax versions for CA, NY, MA, VA, OH, NC, NJ, and PA.

• For Apple Mac-OSx - OpenTaxSolver2014_12.02_macosx.tgz   (0.67-MB)
  - March 25, 2015 - Same as above, but contains compiled binary executables for Apple Mac-OSx. Source-code is also included. Contains US 1040 Fed taxes, Scheds A, B, C, D, and forms 6251 & 8449, updated for 2014 tax-year, as well as updated State-Tax versions for CA, VA, OH, NC, NJ, PA, NY, and MA. To start in graphical mode, the OTS GUI from an Xterm window with:   Run_taxsolve_GUI
  The new GUI has not yet been ported to MacOSx, so this version still uses the older GUI.
  (You may need to get and install the X-windows server.)

• v12.02 (3/25/2015) - Fixed line 374 (worksheet line3) of California Taxes.
• v12.01 (2/7/2015) - GUI - Deactivated button for PDF Auto-Fillout.
  - US 1040 - Fixed printout of last line number (Line 76).
  - Updated years in old Gui (for what it is worth).
  - Fixed GUI invocation issue under Microsoft platforms.
• v12.00 (1/31/2015) - Initial release for 2014 tax-year. Contains US-Fed-1040, with Schedules A, B, C, and D. Handles US Fed form 8949 forms for capital gains/losses. (The Schedules A, B, D, and Forms 6251 & 8949 answers are all produced automatically from the Fed 1040 program, so there are not separate programs for those.) Also includes State Tax versions for Virginia, Ohio, New Jersey, California, North Carolina, Massachusetts, New York, and Pennsylvania.
